Although I also think that pulling up ANY flower by the roots is unacceptable, unless it's a buttercup or a dandelion. I know someone who got a fairly hefty fine for cutting armloads of wildflowers by the roadside in Virginia. They're protected. I can imagine these root-pullers growing up with a similar sense of entitlement to my acquaintance.[/quote]
