[/quote] Totally, 100% agree with this. We need to create hurdles and serious accountability for gun ownership. A person wanting to own or use a gun should have a bar at least as high as car owners and drivers have. Training, tests, identification, insurance, yearly inspections and /or renewal of license. Proof of an adequate and secure storage safe. Age limit should be at least as high as drinking age, preferably higher. Your gun was stolen and used in commission of a crime? The first question asked should be, “were you negligent in storing your gun? Convince us that you weren’t, or hefty fines and jail time could be yours.” No more bs, no more Christmas cards of the entire family proudly showing off their AK-whatevers, no more ‘my troubled kid somehow broke into my antique glass gun display cabinet and used an automatic weapon to gleefully slaughter a bunch of innocents.’ Guns as toys has to end.
