It's never going away. Humans forget immunity to coronaviruses. This was known with common cold coronaviruses and that is playing out with covid. So even if the highly contagious low virulence strain spreads around the world, everyone will forget immunity and be susceptible to the next strain (at least old people with weak immune systems will, who were the people shutting down society from the beginning anyway). That in combination with mutations, vaccine manufacturers always being two steps behind and vaccine skeptics, means we can expect at least one new strain every flu season. So... live under a rock when you have a newborn or are pregnant, then move on with your life. People average 2 flu infections every 10 years, you can expect something similar with covid. [/quote]
