My 16 year old is learning to drive. That seems like the worst possible time for a new car, in my opinion :-)
Wouldn't it be the best time to have a car with all the safety features?
LOL this how parents have justified giving a 16 year-old a brand new car for the last 40 years. Most teens are too dumb and irresponsible for a new car. Another story: the valedictorian of my high school when I was a junior was promised a Porsche by his parents if he got a full-ride to college. Well, he got into some great colleges (Berkeley, UCLA, etc) but only got a full-ride at the local community college. Guess what a dumb 18 year-old boy choose? A Porsche and community college. He's now a wedding videographer.
