OMG you are worried about getting "screwed" for one day? Let's say you make $1000 a day. Please start setting aside $100 a month so you can survive the depravations of Juneteenth.
How many times do I have to say it? I have medical issues I need all my leave for that. I haven’t been on a vacation in 12 years. And it was two days this year I was forced to use PTO
How many times can we tell you that problem is your crappy employer who gives you terrible benefits? Either look for a better job, or accept whatever tradeoffs makes it worth it for you to stay (perhaps your pay is high or you’re difficult to employ). But this isn’t a problem with the federal government and it isn’t a problem with Juneteenth. It’s a problem because your employer is incredibly stingy with the PTO. That’s where you should be focusing your wrath. If I were you, and had medical issues that required me to use PTO, I would do a job search and make sure that the job I accepted had good PTO benefits, even if the pay is lower. Your choice of employer is obviously a poor fit for your needs.
