I got better looking as I got older. Now people stop me in the street and tell me, little children tell me. This would never have happened to me in my 20s. I was a stereotypical late blooming nerd. I am glad I wasn’t really good looking as a young person. I have achieved a lot in life not based on my looks so it has never defined me. It would be a hard thing to lose if it had defined me.
Better looking with age describes me as well. I was ugly as a kid. Kinda awkward looking in my 30s and for some reason got really pretty in my 30s . I was shocked to actually have guys check me out and talk to me. It's been kinda weird actually
Same! I was super awkward/gawky as a kid. Kind of the classic ugly duckling thing. I think this happens to a lot of women who have really boyish figures. We don’t get attention when we are younger unless we have very beautiful faces and/or lots of confidence (I had neither). But the girls who develop early and tend to get a lot of male attention in HS/college/20s dating scene are also more likely to put on weight in their 30s, especially if they have kids. I got more attractive to men by virtue if just staying slim (it’s genetic) while many of my previously prettier peers gained weight. I also had bad acne in my late teens and into my 20s that went away in my 30s, and I started dressing better and investing money in my hair in my 30s because I had steady income. I definitely think I was bottom third in my teens/early 20s, and now in my 40s I’m top third. Life is weird.
