I generally text between 7 and 10. Some will complain about this but I find it nuts that people do not use DND when they sleep.
I do use DND, but if you feel the need to send me non-emergency texts very early or late as a habit, I’ll drop you. It shows that you have a very inflated ego, to think that someone needs or wants to hear from you before sunrise.
DP, I think it's you who has the inflated ego if you expect everyone to know and contact you only with specific hours. Put your phone on silent, and it's no problem. People have different schedules and you/they respond when they can.
My phone is on silent. If you’re the type who thinks I need to know that I need to see a photo of Janie’s ballet recital at 7 a.m. on a Sunday, I’m fine if we fall out of touch.
Same here. Although the texting outside hours is probably just one aspect in which we would conflict. I view texting in the same vein as calling. 8am - 9pm unless someone is in the hospital. I don’t use DND because my family and friends follow this same timeframe - if anyone tries to contact you from 9pm - 8am, it’s an emergency.
My only free time to text or call is from 9 pm to 11 pm. Do you have young kids or just go to bed early?
