The Protestant Anglos in Louisiana would share in general Southern naming traditions. The Catholic French people have their own traditions, but I would definitely count them as Southerners. It should be pointed out that there are Catholic communities throughout the South. Savannah Georgia has a very well known one. The ultimate Catholic Southern writer Flannery O’Connor was from Milledgeville GA. Walter Percy (a favorite writer of mine) was an Anglo from Louisiana was converted to Catholicism.[/quote]
