According to what you believe?
Lol. "God" doesn't exist
Your belief He doesn’t exist isn’t universal. Christianity is the world’s largest religion.
which is not indicative of its value or veracity.
Spiritually and religious beliefs are based on faith. There’s no expectation or need to prove anything true about either. Science also is based on faith. Though these things are understood by philosophers of science, the general public is often unaware of the nature of the scientific enterprise. Most people asking this question assume that Christianity is a blind leap in the dark. Christianity, they say, is not concerned with evidence, but is believed in the absence of evidence, or even contrary to the known facts. Faith is not, however, a leap. Rather, it is a foundation. All science is based upon a faith of some kind. For example, we must believe that there is a real world of matter out there that is accessible and correlated to our senses. We must believe that our minds are giving us reliable information about the world. We must believe that language and mathematics, reason and logic can all be applied to the world of our senses. It is true that scientists take certain things on faith. It is also true that religious narratives might speak to human needs that scientific theories can’t hope to satisfy.
But they're not! What the Bible says is TRUTH, not faith. The scriptures are God's word. I get flyers from the local Christian school that says belief in Christ is not a matter of faith but based on Biblical truth. Stop selling these folks short and being condescending by suggesting their beliefs are just based on faith.
I am confused. Are you discussing that you believe what the Bible says is the TRUTH, not faith, and that scriptures are God’s word? Or discussing that flyers from other people believe that? It sounds in the first part if your post you believe it; in the second, that a local Christian school believes that?
The school mailers from a local Christian school to my house say the Bible is truth, and belief is not not based on faith (those exact words). Plus I've heard others on this forum express the same view. It is rather condescending to these people and their beliefs to assert that "Spiritually and religious beliefs are based on faith." I'm just saying a lot of people would disagree with you about that.
Have you asked the Christian school to take you off their mailing list so you don’t need to be subjected to their flyers? Have you tried not coming to a religious forum that might have possible different opinions about religion? I am not Jewish, but the Jewish posts and comments here are interesting and fit the theme of the forum (religion) so they don’t make me feel like Jewish people are forcing their religion on me? They have a right to be Jewish in public/on a religion forum. I like to hear about their faith/traditions/culture.
