How could they? What would one use as a control? The control woudl have to be the same kid, both FF and BF, which clearly is impossible. If a kid is BF, there's no way to tell how much more sick (if at all) he would have been if he'd been FF. Conversely, is a kid is FF, there's no way top tell how much less sick he'd have been (if at all) if he'd been BF. Short version - the studies HAVE to look at how breastfed kids fare vs FF kids, because no other study is possible. [/quote]
