Really nice pocketbook if you know her tastes. My DH got me a just because hot pink designer bag that I receive ton of compliments on. I've also gotten those tech gifts that were not on my radar that I love like the iPad, back in the day the ipod shuffle, and even my first cell phone were gifts from DH.
A purse is very personal. And hot pink? Really? Are you 12? It really depends on your wife, if she has EVERYTHING (I am one of those women who has everything...I make a lot of money, and if I want something, I get it). You need to get her something that is HER. Last year from Christmas my DH bought me the really old hard cover Nancy Drew books. I loved them as a girl and told him that I had bought two or three and wanted to start collecting them. He bought me the whole collection. Things like this make more of an impression because they show your wife that you're listening to her. Or a spa day.
Umm, I like to think I have a personal relationship with my husband, but hey that's just me. In this case, I go for spa days on my own if I want them. I had been eyeing brightly colored accessories because I wore so much black and gray. I actually hate going into retail stores to shop and don't typically buy purses, so in my case it was the perfect gift. If you are someone that regularly comes home with a new purse and have very specific requirements, no it wouldn't make a good gift. It's like buying a tech gadget for someone that is a true techie and not only gets the latest thing right away, but likes the research Process and getting to try out the technology, getting that person the latest gadget may not be the right call even though you are following an interest.
