If you are a top 10 player they will allow for extra time. Normally they have already verbally talked with the families long before tryouts. If you or your kid is on the bubble of deciding the best team they will give you 2 weeks. They may also ask for a conference to understand the issue. IF you are new or not the top you normally have 48 hours and some clubs 5 days.
Not the case at all. Maybe that works where you are. They gave all kids on the top team 48 hours to decide. As a result, they are losing two of their top five players for sure, and likely more.
I don't get this mentality. Why are all these top team players trying out at multiple clubs anyway? Someone previously said every year they call and do practice tryouts in advance of real tryouts. If 2 or more of your top 5 players are not happy and are trying out elsewhere, then it's not a huge loss. Sounds like the partnership wasn't working anyway. Weird that multiple top players are continually fishing around. Is it the grass is always greener mentality? I can see one or two moves between littles and highschool. At some point you should research, pick somewhere and stay. Changing clubs is not like a yearly flu shot that should be repeated annually.
You may be vastly oversimplifying what people are thinking. Perhaps the teams are stale and development stagnant, maybe they want some fresh air and faces, losing 1/4 of starting team could be huge, maybe the partnership was fine and people wanted more. By the way, whats wrong with club hopping? Thats the second time its been portrayed as negative in last couple of days. I cant wait to hear why it’s a bad choice, coach.
Cute. Calling me a coach because you don't agree with my opinion.
Sounds like I called it, though. I definitely don’t agree with your opinion. Why do we have to put up with something we dont see added value in anymore?
Dp, then leave. But most people can decide in 48 hours because they have already decided to stay or go.
