A couple of top 2009 girls are playing with the 2010 girls team this weekend. Actually they are playing right now as I am watching the game. One is a forward and the other is on defense. We are playing in the top division and thought I would see if there is an chance what the earlier poster said was true. And, I actually wanted to say that the earlier poster was full of crap. I’ll also say though the 2009 Coach is the same as the 2010s.
Likely they are both 2010 girls who play up for 2009. We have had players playing a year up every year my kid has played for pipeline.
Please take your time to read. They are talking about top 2009s playing down on 2010s in a tournament.
I can guarantee they have no personal knowledge. All they know in two girls played in both games. As someone with a child who actually plays for Pipeline, I believe those girls are 2010s playing up on 2009, playing up is very common at Pipeline, I kniwof zero cases where they allowed a kid to play down. Posters here love to start false rumors about Pipeline.
. As a previous poster and pipeline boy parent, I haven't seen them allowing a kid to play down but have seen them allow many kids to play from A to B in tournaments. I wouldn't call it the most toxic environment I have ever seen as others have said but youth soccer is toxic at this level, period. I think what pipeline and many other clubs miss (and most parents) is that the vast majority of these kids aren't going pro, getting huge scholarships or even playing at the college level. Even at the B team level, the push to win at all costs just ruins spirits. There just isn't a space for developing these kids and allowing them to play and learn. That is sad downfall of most of the clubs that play at this level. It is no longer a game but a business and promise to the parents that they can live some sports fantasy through their kid.
