I got one too.  And rebuilt my engagement ring after my husband's affair (which is a different story).  I used to ALWAYS wear the wedding band and engagement ring.  Then I stopped the engagement ring.  Then we rebuilt, and got the eternity ring.  I wear the full set if I'm dressed up.  The rest of the time, its the wedding band or the eternity ring.

I hate the teardrop shaped stones, regardless of stone type.  My favorite part of the engagement ring is that it is a symbol of who you were then as a couple.  Finances, kids, life happen....and that is the bedrock (or pearl, or band, or tattoo or whatever).  So, my most hated trend is "upgrading" from whatever you started with.  Add on...ok.  But never replace.[/quote]

I agree. I’ve been married almost 14 years. When the subject of an upgrade came up, I felt icky about it. Like getting an upgrade says the first ring wasn’t good enough. I’ve worn it everyday since our engagement. It’s been on my hand for everything we have gone through together. I can’t just toss it aside. [/quote]
