Of course playing and having film is better than nothing, that is not the point. The point is clubs can schedule scrimmages for a fraction of the cost of showcase that can't host any in person D1 coaches anyway. League games that are filmed will serve the same purpose. And considering most of the teams are local and league rivals it seems a waste of money to pay $800+ to play a team you play against regularly anyways.

D1 coaches are simply telling kids that they now want to see them in person.

So, to sophomores, the film might help get a kid on the radar. Great! But then again you have time.

Juniors/Seniors, you know by now coaches are telling you they want to see you in person if they are currently talking to you. There is very little new information that game film is going to do to change that currently.

I'm not against playing some soccer and it is great to get some games in but that money could be better spent later this spring/summer when D1 coaches can actually see the player in person. [/quote]
