Agreed. I was also thinking R8. Honestly it's not that hard to sell an R8 and you don't need a special middle man. Just go request blue book value from a dealer or carmax. I believe if you took a poll, most people would not consider an R8 exotic, although it is certainly a very cool car. [/quote]

Exactly! Obviously people didn’t understand my question. If I’m not wanting to pay 10% commission to my DHs friend why would I pay 40% or more  to a dealer!?!  I’m sure these same people would freak out when they got the dealers offer!  :roll: [/quote]

But how much work are you willing to put in?  The option that will net you the most involves the most work and most risk.

Are you willing to post it somewhere and have people come check out the car?  What will you do if you get a lot of people interested in looking at a cool car who would never have the funds to purchase it?

Are you at all concerned about getting robbed or otherwise treated by a stranger?  Does Covid impact your willingness to meet with people?

Or give you a bad check.  Or rob you after giving you cash.  (Most random transactions between strangers are cash, but you are talking big cash here.)  The chance of any these things happening aren't great, but it isn't inconceivable.  I'd honestly be more concerned about the hassle and time waste than getting cheated.

Not having to worry about these things would make me willing to pay a reasonable commission to someone to deal with it.  Do you think you could negotiate the 10% commission down somewhat?[/quote]
