This is something she specifically said she did not want. Sorry, OP. My DH has done something similar and it really pisses me off. For my DH, it is at least partly because he cares for me and wants to make me happy, but there’s also this paternalistic aspect that he knows best and he knows what I want better than I do, which is total crap.
