This is a ploy to keep schools open through outbreaks. Even if COVID takes down several kids in a class, the school can just keep humming along with the virus spreading to other classes on the school bus, in the bathrooms, in the hallways, and through contacts. These kids will go home and infect their families, who will spread the virus at work and to their own contacts. This will increase community spread exponentially, if states decide to use this designation. This is disgusting and dangerous. [/quote]

Exactly. I feel bad for the people living in states with Trumpster governors. However, even if they attempt this, the whole thing will fall apart within a month. Cases will once again skyrocket and pressure to close will mount. I'm glad to live in Massachusetts. Our Governor wants to open, but he's not insane. I have no doubt he would stamp out that nonsense about teaching while exposed but asymptomatic in a minute. We're trying to organize mobile testing units for schools. Hmmm....what would be helpful in this effort? I know! A functioning national government. [/quote]
