One of my university professors was a ghost writer of a well-known series of novels for teen girls and talked a lot about the industry. I also currently know somebody who is a "professional ghost" (ie, ghost writes on contract); he has also published some novels on his own, but this isn't as lucrative as one would believe, so he ghosts as well. Famous airheads pay someone to write their books, people. Did you really believe that so many celebrities, most of whom have limited high school educations only, have actually written books? I think it is hilarious that people here actually think this empty-headed woman wrote her own book. People, celebrity "books" are ghost written. It is an entire industry.
Um, we all know celebs get help writing their books. This isn't news. The point is she had a compelling story worth sharing that enough people wanted to buy to make it a best seller. But her voice very much comes through in the book. Sure she got help, but it's her story, her voice, her book.
