She posted the kids on TikTok. 4 girls and 1 boy with estimated ages of 6, 8, 11, and 13. Activities featured showed them all old enough to brush their own teeth and dye easter eggs without assistance. Her spouse's laziness has nothing to do with a colicky baby.
All of them old enough to help out too. My kids (8, 10) are not exactly superstars, and we don't demand a lot from them. But, last weekend, they cleaned two bathrooms (toilet and sinks and trash, not the tubs), did their laundry from start to finish (a little help with the socks), vacuumed the downstairs and emptied the dishwasher. They will do the same this weekend. They regularly set the table, empty the dishwasher, do some form of laundry and tidying their rooms. They get themselves breakfast and lunch, with some assistance as needed, My spouse is not the one, however, to enforce this. I have always been the one to push them to do it. He finds it easier to do it himself and yes, initially it is easier because they suck at it, but they get better and learn. I understand how a day with a bunch of kids can be crazy, but having cleaning up activities should be part of it. Every good daycare knows the clean up song!
