If you are a mother and alive or have one that is alive WTF complaining about! I mean really depressing it's a commercial day and has nothing to do with love for or being grateful for a mother. Not OP, but I literally CAN'T try being a refugee in Italy or Spain.  It's impossible.  So why shouldn't I enjoy a little me time on Mother's Day?[/quote]

You can just don't complain about being depressed about the day this year, lots to be depressed about but not this! Sad for all the mothers who lost their lives or who are working daily to save others while putting their own family at risk. [/quote]

PP.  I agree with you on that point.  I wouldn't say Mother's Day is depressing to me this year even if I can't do any of the things I'd normally do.  I do think of the mothers who aren't at home, like our neighbor who is currently on the USNS Comfort.  So I think OP is playing her tiny violin far too loudly, but I also think you're a little too far on the other end of the spectrum.  It's ok for people to be upset that things are different this year.  Depressing is a bit much for me, but I don't think people need to say they aren't allowed to be sad just because they don't have it worse.  [/quote]
