I’m a single mom, so my son and I will make brunch together (like we did for Easter). I may remind him that we have art supplies to make me a card.
Pathetic (your Mother, not you).
My mom is like this too.

Obviously, I screw-up some times, but I do my absolute best even when it’s difficult. I go all out in many aspects of parenting. My kids love me and we’re doing well during quarantine. I see some moms do nothing (welfare, can’t cook, can’t help with homework bc they barely got through school themselves, on drugs, lost custody, bringing boyfriends home, etc). Yet they are being praised with the same gushy, saccharine sentimentality that I get.
This is the weirdest thing I've ever read on DCUM, and that's saying something.
+1,000 And who says those mothers are actually getting praise?
That those other moms are living rent-free in this woman’s head to the point she LITERALLY CAN’T ENJOY MOTHER’S DAY gives me such schadenfreude I can’t contain my giggles.

If you are a mother and alive or have one that is alive WTF complaining about! I mean really depressing it's a commercial day and has nothing to do with love for or being grateful for a mother. There's plenty to be depressed about during this outbreak but not this, AMERICAN problems! Try being a refugee or in Italy or Spain ….
Not OP, but I literally CAN'T try being a refugee in Italy or Spain. It's impossible. So why shouldn't I enjoy a little me time on Mother's Day?
You can just don't complain about being depressed about the day this year, lots to be depressed about but not this! Sad for all the mothers who lost their lives or who are working daily to save others while putting their own family at risk.
