Bump... any new thoughts? We are not delaying
I'm 34 weeks pregnant and I think anyone trying right now is making a big mistake. You won't get the level of prenatal care you want besides the fact that you automatically are high risk. I really don't want to be pregnant right now or giving birth during the surge. Even my level-headed OB doesn't like the timing. Imagine doctors not having the supplies they need to save your life. Fun times.
36 weeks pregnant right now with DC#2, and I agree with this PP. I am AMA and close enough to the end of pregnancy that I’m not having to skip or delay appointments, but I know plenty of women currently in 1st or 2nd trimester are having to do so, including time-critical scans and tests. I’d wait at least a few months, maybe into fall, to start trying. The last thing you want to do is contract COVID and end up running a high fever in your first trimester, when the fetus is most vulnerable. The thoughts of delivering now terrify me, what with the risks of being exposed at a hospital; the fact that, if I need a c section, my DH can’t be there (lack of PPE means some hospitals are banning partners from c sections); there’s a shortage in the blood supply; hospital staff are potentially overworked or asymptomatic carriers; the list goes on.
