It is also usually about a boyfriend / girlfriend from the past and often it isn't clear which one. In this case it is about a specific person who she was married to for 17 years and still needs to co-parent minor children with.

This is why the song IS great, because it's not generic. All these other songs you're talking about i.e. Carrie Underwood etc aren't even written by the singer, usually.

The Dixie Chicks are 100% authentic and true to themselves. We need more of this, not less.[/quote]
