He had extremely traumatic vacations, all of them stuffed in a motor home for weeks at a time, every single year - even when they lived overseas! He is still in therapy for it, decades later, I am not even kidding (wish I was). We don't go anywhere because to DH, vacation is pure hell. The kids kind of follow his lead.
