Oh my god lady.  No.

1) how often is there a bathroom with a sink RIGHT NEXT TO THE FIELD?  Where a player can just quickly duck in, wash hands, change tampon, wash hands, and get right back on the field in less than 2 minutes?  
2) you have to get to the field early to warm up.  I've had times when my super plus tampon barely lasted 30 minutes.  Not often, but it's happened.  So include travel time from home, war mup time, and now before the game has started it's been 2 hours since I've had a good bathroom nearby.
3) yes pads sucks!  The bunch up and don't stay in place which leads to what?  LEAKS.

Five daughters here. I think you are the one being obtuse. 
Some have used tampons right away. Some have taken several years to be comfortable with it. Why oh why would you make life harder for a teenage girl with regards to this? Certainly they don’t need to be stressing about using a tampon so that soccer uniforms have a certain look. [/quote]
