Has anyone stayed in one of the new "Tru by Hilton" hotels? I've spotted two recently, one along I-81 in VA. Apparently a new "vibrant, affordable and young at heart" hotel (according to Hilton). Would like to hear from anyone who has stayed in a Tru. We're Hilton members who always shoot for a Hampton or Hilton Garden Inn but I'm curious about Tru too since I'd still get points there....
We spent 1 night at Tru by Hilton Fayetteville I-95 and it was great. You could tell it was new. Rooms had no carpets which was great for my family (asthma and allergies). Floors were vinyl plank and looked very chic and were clean. Bathroom had bright white subway tile and was large and well laid out. Only issue were the wall mounted econo size bottles of shampooo, body wash etc. kind of hard to squeeze out a good dollop but otherwise no complaints. In the morning they offered a simple breakfast with cold items (cereals, pastries, fruit) plus some hot options (waffles, oatmeal) plus juice, milk, tea and coffee. Had some small snacks for purchase as well. Would definitely go back. We had a room with two double beds plus some extra seating and a desk. Furniture was minimalist, think IKEA wall mounted storage. Beds were comfy. Colors were modern mix of blue, yellow, white and gray.
