Residence inn or drury are my preferences if they have them but they’re not as common in some parts of the country.

Reliably good: Holiday Inn Express, Springfield Suites and Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden. Reliably bad or iffy: Super 8, Motel 6, Comfort Inn.

We stay at that same one too en route to Indiana and Michigan. Next time I’m making my kids a waffle I’ll tell her “here you go, Larla” and see who looks up in recognition!

Of that class of hotels Hampton Inn is by far my favorite. Residence Inns can also be nice. Hilton Garden Inn and Fairfield are okay.

Tru by Hilton. PP is right. Ikea furniture but looks nice.

We're Hilton members who always shoot for a Hampton or Hilton Garden Inn but I'm curious about Tru too since I'd still get points there....

We spent 1 night at Tru by Hilton Fayetteville I-95 and it was great. You could tell it was new. Rooms had no carpets which was great for my family (asthma and allergies). Floors were vinyl plank and looked very chic and were clean.

Bathroom had bright white subway tile and was large and well laid out. Only issue were the wall mounted econo size bottles of shampooo, body wash etc. kind of hard to squeeze out a good dollop but otherwise no complaints.

In the morning they offered a simple breakfast with cold items (cereals, pastries, fruit) plus some hot options (waffles, oatmeal) plus juice, milk, tea and coffee. Had some small snacks for purchase as well.

Would definitely go back. We had a room with two double beds plus some extra seating and a desk. Furniture was minimalist, think IKEA wall mounted storage. Beds were comfy. Colors were modern mix of blue, yellow, white and gray.
