And giving parents enough time to adjust to parenting & recover from infant-phase is the best way to get them back up to being productive in the office. In retrospect, I would have been a much more productive employee if I had gone PT for a while after returning, or had a longer maternity leave, instead of white-knuckling it completely sleep deprived and overwhelmed.
