My kid did Juniors and didn’t get much out of it. To be fair my child is on the very young side of the birth year. I thought the coerver coaches were fine. No issues with anyone yelling at the kids, but they weren’t particularly skilled at teaching the 6-7 year old set, in my opinion, either. Lots of the instruction went over most kids’ head. Like they would work on field position, only a small subset would seem to get it, then they’d move on to something else and not necessarily expect or reinforce what was just learned. I think if your child is particularly mature , able to listen, and driven then it is worthwhile — just to get so many extra touches at that age. There were a handful of kids who really improved. Mine would have better off sticking with Rec.
Interesting because I had believed Coerver to be mostly interested in skill developing not the tactical side. It seems like at the younger ages Coerver would be perfectly suited to developing technical skills in the younger kids.
