So why are there divisions and flights and a and b and c teams, etc.? Why even have teams? Why have DA and ECNL?  Why even have tryouts and rosters? Just let the best players and only the best players play every game in every league and every tournament. Screw the less talented players. They suck anyhow according to you, right? [/quote]

At U10 - U12 there really aren’t divisions. Most leagues don’t even post scores until U12. Pro/Rel divisions are generally not formed until the spring of U12. League and tourney placement at the young ages are comprised of club reputation/team hierarchy within the club and the coaches request. So there can be a simple wide disparity in teams at the younger ages because there is relatively little history to properly base divisions on. There are LOTS of blowouts at these ages for a number of reasons. And there is little reason to ever get either upset or excited about lopsided results. For all you know, those guest players are being dropped down to that team next season. Or the coach wanted his kids to play with some players who can receive and send a proper pass so that they can see what successful combinations in a game look like. Either way it is Ulittle soccer and there are lots of ways for coaches to develop ALL the players and some of those methods may come at your teams expense. [/quote]
