I like calm, laid back dogs who, don’t bark or growl or jump on me or my kids and are well trained. But I don’t ever want to have my own dog. The idea has zero appeal to me. Having kids is enough work. I don’t really like going to friends or relatives houses if they have pets unless the pets are as stated above. One of my friends has a dog who will just lie at my feet and let me pet him. And I love that dog. But my brothers dog is big and nervous/skittish, barks a lot, jumps on me. I really don’t like him.
I agree 100%. My kids keep begging for a dog but I know myself well enough to know I would be very unhappy having my life revolve around its care. I also like calm, sweet dogs but have no desire to have one in my house.
Totally agree. Happy to visit with a calm, sweet dog once in a while but no desire to own one. I find children far more interesting and sweet, and am delighted the cleaning-up-their poop stage ends after a few long years!
