I never make eye contact with the owners or react to their dogs and can tell they’re hurt/offended that I’m completely ignoring their dog.
DP I am one dog owner that does not get hurt or offended that you don't give my dog any attention. Unless I am related to them I generally ignore babies/kids. I hope you are hurt of offended

I agree 100%. My kids keep begging for a dog but I know myself well enough to know I would be very unhappy having my life revolve around its care. I also like calm, sweet dogs but have no desire to have one in my house.

Yes! I also love children and find them so interesting - especially because they eventually learn to talk so it’s not always a one-sided conversation!
DP Sometimes that is a positive that the dogs can't talk back. They can't complain either! I have both and love my kids but, had to point that out.

And you've just proven my post. I don't care even a little whether you like my dog, like that I like my dog or some version of the two. You don't want the dogs by you, fine. Just say so and move on. I don't need some dissertation, here or in person, as to what you do or don't like. What you think of me. Why you think their gross. And on and on and on. The number of these anti-dog or anti-cat threads proves that you people cannot STFU about it.

Just be honest. Then I can avoid you. Dog haters are the worst. Always going around proclaiming how much they hate dogs, think their gross, etc. Which is fine. You don't have to like my dogs. Just tell me. I'll absolutely keep them away from you. And I'll do the same as I generally find those people to be uptight and priggish. I'll tolerate you but that's about it. So we'll call it even.

I’m a dog person BUT I am crazy about chiuahahas-they are perfect!
I am less into big dogs and when I friend asked if I thought her dog was cute I said he is,
I think dogs are cute but little dogs have my heart. (She has a giant dog). She gets it. No hard feelings.
Big dogs aren’t my thing.
Chihuahuas are HORRIBLE ANIMALS. Agressive and neurotic and mean. I have never met a single one that I like, and yes I've had close contact with about 10 because I have a family member like you. Going to their house is hell because of these nippy little things that the owner thinks is "so cute" when they try to bite literally anyone who is not the owner. Awful awful animals.
Completely agree. We have neighbors with chihuahuas and they act like it’s so cute when the rat-dogs snarl and nip at people. It’s not cute. I can’t stand chihuahuas.

Dogs can be very sweet, but their barking, smell, and pooping/peeing on lawns in the neighborhood puts me off. If you love them and enjoy caring for them, great, but please don't assume I want any physical contact with them.
