This. It is pathetic. I judge the heck out of idiots who parade around stores with their dogs.
+1
I never make eye contact with the owners or react to their dogs and can tell they’re hurt/offended that I’m completely ignoring their dog.

But I don’t ever want to have my own dog. The idea has zero appeal to me. Having kids is enough work. I don’t really like going to friends or relatives houses if they have pets unless the pets are as stated above. One of my friends has a dog who will just lie at my feet and let me pet him. And I love that dog. But my brothers dog is big and nervous/skittish, barks a lot, jumps on me. I really don’t like him.
I agree 100%. My kids keep begging for a dog but I know myself well enough to know I would be very unhappy having my life revolve around its care. I also like calm, sweet dogs but have no desire to have one in my house.
Totally agree. Happy to visit with a calm, sweet dog once in a while but no desire to own one. I find children far more interesting and sweet, and am delighted the cleaning-up-their poop stage ends after a few long years!
Yes! I also love children and find them so interesting - especially because they eventually learn to talk so it’s not always a one-sided conversation![/quote
DP Sometimes that is a positive that the dogs can't talk back. They can't complain either! I have both and love my kids but, had to point that out.

Thanks for proving the point! Most of us have said we like dogs, just not the over-the-top owners. Like you.

My issue is having to pretend to like my friends’ dogs. They expect me to pet them and I don’t want to touch them.
Now my new boss brings her ugly old little dog to work and so wants me to like him - pet him, watch him do “cute” things, talk about him...
Ugh!

Agree
Agree. Not liking dogs is a character flaw.
Lol! You are practically a parody of a pathetic dog owner. How do you look yourself in the mirror with a straight face?

Anonymous wrote:I like dogs but I'm not one of those people that will bend over or get down on my knees so a dog can lick me on the face. Dogs sniff poop and other dogs butts, so how can you allow it to lick you o the face? I think that's gross!

LOL. Look just be honest
I’m a dog person BUT I am crazy about chiuahahas-they are perfect!
I am less into big dogs and when I friend asked if I thought her dog was cute I said he is,
I think dogs are cute but little dogs have my heart. (She has a giant dog). She gets it. No hard feelings.
Big dogs aren’t my thing.
Chihuahuas are HORRIBLE ANIMALS. Agressive and neurotic and mean. I have never met a single one that I like, and yes I've had close contact with about 10 because I have a family member like you. Going to their house is hell because of these nippy little things that the owner thinks is "so cute" when they try to bite literally anyone who is not the owner. Awful awful animals.
