I'm 65 and my goal is never to retire. I run a consulting firm and my intent is to position it to sell in the next five years and after that I will consult with similar firms who want to be acquired. I want to be engaged in business and be challenged every day. I have a number of friends who are five to ten years older than me who retired at 60, 55, and earlier. Those with a substantive hobby or other interests have done well. Those without any real interests have drifted along. My two cents, YMMV......
Thank you! I'm 58 and DH is 70, and we're both working and plan on working in a consultant basis as long as we can. We've traveled plenty and now enjoy our daily routine of being a couple and meeting up for dinner or drinks after work and hanging out. I just can't imagine not having that part of my life. God willing, we will stay healthy and active and can continue to engage in our work lives on at least a part time basis, we love what we do!
