First, I don't see the Court paying any attention to it in the future.  Second, since he knows abiut the furor and ignores it, I ask myself why.  And myself tells me that he is not at all unhappy to have the fringe getting all this press and drawing the attention of the middle away from substantive issues that mainstream conservatives are concerned about.

BTW, are any of you who are concerned about this issue likely to vote for him if it is settled to your satisfaction, assuming there is actually a limit to how far you will move the goalpost?[/quote]

He may be happy about this and thinks it draws attention from all his inadequacies but he had to put together a coalition of voters to be elected and he received most of the Independent voters, of which I am one.  There are many Independents, centrists Democrats and Republicans to whom this might well be a problem and he has to keep this coalition if he wants to win reelection.  The best thing to do when you have a problem is to face it head on.  There is no such thing as a little pregnancy.  [/quote]
