He needs these cadres of independents to be reelected. I'm an independent and his elitist incompetency is why I would not vote for him again and there are cadres of independents who share my opinion. Maybe all Independents are wingnuts.
I see, so you won't vote for him because of his elitist incompetency. But somehow that would all change if only you knew for sure that he was born in Hawaii?

If it comes up again and the Ct. turns it down then the furor for Obama to produce the original will reign supreme. All of us know that if the POTUS wants the original, or a copy, of his long birth certificate, the state of Hawaii will give it to him. I think the Birthers are over the top but if I were Obama I would have the original released and this would shut them up. The fact that he doesn't only adds to their furor.
First, I don't see the Court paying any attention to it in the future. Second, since he knows abiut the furor and ignores it, I ask myself why. And myself tells me that he is not at all unhappy to have the fringe getting all this press and drawing the attention of the middle away from substantive issues that mainstream conservatives are concerned about.
BTW, are any of you who are concerned about this issue likely to vote for him if it is settled to your satisfaction, assuming there is actually a limit to how far you will move the goalpost?
