My guess is that PP was talking about drilling a hole in order to clarify enhance the diamonds. I believe you typically drill out visible inclusions and fill the hole. [/quote]

There are plenty of designs that don’t have this hole. Lightbox doeant makenlab diamonds over 1ct so this doesn’t help OP anyway. [/quote]
