So again.. do Whitman students only do things that will get them into a good college?  That's not very "elite" college material.  Why do other W students do well, then?  Are they just more conscientious about doing well regardless of what they get in return?   Or they are just dumb because they don't realize that it has no impact on college admissions, and so why bother trying?

I don't know about you, but I tell my non W kids to do their best in whatever they do.  It's a life attitude I'm trying to teach them. But then again, we are not from money, so they can't rely on their parents' money.[/quote]
