True dat!
Send them to Kennedy High instead.

So they only will put effort into something that will get them into a good college and not because they should try do their best in academics? That doesn't sound like elite univ. material.
Why do other W students do well in PARCC then? Are they just "dumber"? Or less entitled and reliant on parents' money?
If your job required you to perform a menial task, and that task had no impact on your salary or future prospects, how much effort would you put into that task? Your absolute most effort, just enough to get by, or none at all?

https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/uploadedFiles/schools/whitmanhs/about/427_Progress_Report_Card_ENG_WHITMAN_HS_2017.pdf
505 students appeared for the test 10th Grade English/Language Arts and of them, a total of 90.9% students either met or exceeded expectations.
Only 185 students appeared for Algebra I test (because many students would have done this course long before they reached 10th grade). Of these students, over 62.2% either met or exceeded expectations.
From the English/Language Arts test results above, one can say that Whitman students are learning and doing well in that subject.
The academic achievement indicator is a combination of the percent of students scoring “proficient” or higher on state tests in Math and English Language Arts, and the average performance level of students on state tests.

Why are they selfish and entitled because they didn’t push themselves for yet another test, one that doesn’t matter?
DP.. so then the low PARCC scores at say... Einstein HS doesn't mean much, too, then, right?
No silly, everyone knows that when rich white kids fail it’s becuse they do it on purpose, and when everyone else fails it means they’re lazy, their parents don’t believe in education, etc.
This is part of the false narrative the real-estate industry pushes to drive up home values. Every MCPS school has a high-achieving cohort the difference is the degree to which poverty the impacts test averages. Honestly, some focus schools may in fact do a better job since the classes are much smaller.
Plus much better on your kids confidence and success to be a Big Fish in a Little Pond of ESOL and FARMs.
More real world as well. So sick of these elites from nonSES diverse schools and companies telling truly diverse public schools what to “try out.”
For me at least, I appreciate that my kids go to a diverse school where they learn about people who are different than they are and feel empathy and compassion for others. Imagine going to a school like Churchill with all the bullying and racism.
