Hey FCV - update your website of commits. You don’t have a commit to Princeton! That player left your club for ECNL long before she got an offer and committed to the school. So misleading and shady.
Someone should fact-check the rest of the stuff on their website. If a club is going to lie on its website about its college commitments, then it makes one question whether anything else on the club's website is true and accurate.
It would even be fine if they listed players who had played for them for a significant portion of time. Who knows why a kid leaves but it isn't always because of negative reasons for the club. Sometimes situations just change either soccer or life. So if a kid who played for your club for 2-3 years, leaves and commits somewhere there is nothing wrong about saying congrats to the kid in someway. It probably should say something like "Congrats to former FCV player _____ for her Princeton commitment." On the flip side, it is always difficult to claim ownership to a players development when they change clubs.
Fair point, but in this instance the player left FCV as a Miami commit, and became a Princeton commit at a different ECNL club.
So what? Soccer wise Miami is harder to make than Princeton. Academic wise, Princeton is obviously harder to make than Miami. I guarantee you, being accepted to Princeton had nothing to do with the club she was playing with at the time. Having Miami interested in her soccer makes Princeton soccer look like NCSL by comparison. Her academic record is what got her into Princeton at that point. And a kid changing ones mind over attending one school over another is not all that shocking. But do not conflate changing clubs with changing college choices. They are not related at all.
Wrong. Princeton is ranked #24. Miami is #159. Princeton is a way better program and harder to make.
