Vandy is in what is now a trendy city and has used merit aid and a focus on standardized tests to greatly increase perceived selectivity.  If you look at standardized tests, they are well above UVA and W&M and they used to be below.  They essentially have done what Duke did years ago and Chicago did more recently.[/quote]

Vandy has been highly regarded, but if you go back and look at selectivity, like the post says, it was historically less selective than UVA and W&M.  Duke has been more selective as long as I can remember.  Vandy has become much more selective over the past 10 years.
