Well, USNews has had to place some in buckets that don't fit too well.  Dartmouth College, Wake, College of W&M for instance end up in National Universities while University of Richmond ends up in LAC.[/quote]

The point is still valid and why call someone an idiot over this?  WSJ and Forbes decide to combine classifications.  USNews decided to follow Carnegie classifications. And even then they made the decision to combine High Research R2 (Wake, W&M, Dartmouth, Rensselaer, etc.) with Highest Research R1 (Michigan, MIT, etc.).[/quote]
