OP, if there is some major issue with traffic it is likely that several other players will be late too. Text the coach and let them now. Coaches are more than likely going to understand if it is actually out of your control. If you are a consistently late person than you need to adjust, out of respect for your coach and teammates.

If you have a team with a coach who doesn't understand the occasional one-off or parents like some of these posters, find another team. Seriously--these other parents are going to burn out their kids to the point they'll hate the game and be excited one day if they make the JV of an NAIA team. Avoid them for your sanity, and more importantly, for your kid's well-being.

Seriously people--stop posting your own internal insecurities and rants in response to a simple fricking question about traffic.
