Interesting. 
Back in Dec., 2011, Pelosi was promoting a payroll tax cut by Obama with this tweet:

"Today's agreement is a victory for the American people-they spoke out clearly & #40dollars each paycheck will make a difference.”

whoosh.. that's the sound of the point going over your head.....

It's not about the amount of the bonus or increase in wages in and of itself, like in the case you mention.  It's about the fact that the 1% got a MUCH bigger tax cut than the middle, and the one time bonus (as nice as it is) is not the same as an on-going huge tax cut for the rich.

It's all relative. That's the point.  If they got the bonus and $1/hour increase while the  uber rich also got just a tiny increase, then that's fair. But, this lop sided tax cut and "give away" is otherwise pretty insulting to the middle class by the Rs.[/quote]
