Maybe it depends where on the bay you are? I've spent many vacations on the bayside beaches in Dennis and never felt the need to wear water shoes!

Agreed that your comfort will depend on what you're used to and the weather.  We were last there a couple years ago and even my Southerner DH who never wants to get in the water up there was swimming because it was hot.  The water always feels warmer when the tide is coming in over the hot sand too.  Kids will love all the tide pools and beach combing - or at least I did growing up. Taking DD for the first time this summer![/quote]
