Well now we know, given the release of the J6 AAR and other insights. The After Action Report tries to provide them with a cover and says that FBI agents were "confused" and "unclear" on what their purpose was in being there for J6 - and that's because they didn't think MAGA and Proud Boys were a problem...   [i]because they sided with MAGA and Proud Boys and the J6ers. [/i]  They sympathized with the Proud Boys, Oathkeepers, III% and believed they were "on the side of good," and in fact we also know that those organizations have many current and former law enforcement and military among their membership. Frankly it was sickening to see MPD officers fist-bump Proud Boys when they came to town to cause chaos, assault random civilians and vandalize two historic black churches.  And some within MPD were found guilty of sharing police intel with them.  I wouldn't be surprised if the same happened with FBI.

This puts a whole new twist on the "J6 was feds" - it wasn't a "fed false flag" - there's no evidence FBI led the charge, but the AAR does reveal that they basically "stood back and stood by" and did nothing while their Proud Boys and Oathkeepers buddies did the dirty work.  Turns out the "Deep State" within FBI was pro-MAGA.  There's no evidence that it was a "false flag" to make MAGA look bad, and it wasn't an outright "inside job" but it certainly seems evident that they didn't stand in the way of Trump's J6 insurrection and didn't try to shut it down, and that they slow-walked much of the subsequent investigation, prosecution, and gave themselves cover by downplaying their role in it.[/quote]
