I wonder how her husband feels to watch his wife and mother of his child literally disappear. Its such a selfish disease that is truly hard to watch especially when young children are involved. I think people are demented if they think her weight loss is anything BUT a severe eating disorder. Reminds me a lot of Karen Carpenter. (Yes Im old...goggle it)
ED families often have dynamics and roles similar to other addictions- addict, hero, scapegoat, mascot, lost child, caretaker/enabler. He very well may play a part in her addiction (I have no idea) and won't simply assume he's helplessly wringing his hands in anguish.
^^ good point. I haven't been able to figure out how he could stand by and watch, but this makes sense. Makes me think about the role he plays in his own FOO, especially since his dad passed away. Plus, he employs his sister as a manager/scheduler of sorts. Interesting. (Of course, I know nothing about any of them, I'm just imagining what could be going on.) It's so much more evident in the 600 lb. Life type shows that there's an enabler and a really messed up family dynamic. Not so much with B & G.
