[/quote] Hiring foreign actors to fake American accents seems to be common in HBO and Netflix shows as well. I don't know if they get paid less or what but I can usually hear it in their accent. Watching Mare of Easttown, every time Kate Winslet acts excited, angry, or emotional in any way, I can hear the British accent on her words. She's a fine actress and all but I don't understand why shows keep doing this.
