lol - plenty of American actors are hired to fake British accents as well. It’s called acting!Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Watched an interview with the guy who plays Nick. He's actually British! Didn't expect that!
So are Luke and Fred. Serena is Australian.
That explains Fred and Serena‘s odd deliberate American accent.
Hiring foreign actors to fake American accents seems to be common in HBO and Netflix shows as well. I don't know if they get paid less or what but I can usually hear it in their accent. Watching Mare of Easttown, every time Kate Winslet acts excited, angry, or emotional in any way, I can hear the British accent on her words. She's a fine actress and all but I don't understand why shows keep doing this. Do they not have enough content in other countries to keep their actors employed?

I can't say for sure, but I think it's someone else.

When he walked in on Serena praying, and then said things got more complicated for *us*
I’ll be so pissed if he’s really a bad guy. It just seems to add unnecessary complication to the story arc.
And in the last scene, it could have been seen as June warning him not to get tangled up with Serena.
I think he is going to be a double agent or something. There’s something really NOT RIGHT about him and his relationship with Serena.
I'll be really disappointed if this is the case. He is the only character in the series who officially represents the United States Government in exile. It would be a real loss for the storytelling, IMO, if he doesn't remain a faithful servant of the U.S.
I think he's on the up and up. He's just working Serena.

Also, I can’t fathom what it must feel like to leave Gilead knowing your child is still there. I think it must be painful beyond words.
Most mothers would want to see their second child nonstop after arriving.
