LAMB is a ward 4 school with headquarters on Missouri Avenue. The entitlement to demand they be anything else or make up for the shortcomings of the entire DCPS structure is staggering.
But they opened a campus in Ward 5 and accepted families from wards 6-7-8. These people add to the diversity of the school. Our children are entitled to continue their education at lamb and lamb has a responsibility towards them. I understand there is tremendous hostility towards this group of parents, but I don't understand why. They're not focused on killing the dream of a unified school, they just want to be able to send their kids there without uprooting everyone.
WTF are you talkning about? Families from every ward were always accepted, even before the temporary SD ave location.
But they didn't apply until the commute was feasible. We just want to find a way to make the school work for our families. I recognize that you're a disgusting person and don't care. But it is the right thing to do.
Not the PP -- you aren't listening. Families from EVERY ward in the city applied to LAMB when it was at Missouri avenue and enrolled at roughly the same ratios as they do now. We had far fewer charter options than you do now, and the luxury of prioritizing schools with short commutes just wasn't a thing. We all knew we had to drive to make it work, there were lots of carpools.
